Mar de Dios

Mar de Dios (1992) was born and lives in Bilbao. Trained at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the UPV / EHU, she specializes in the Master of Ceramics, studying the previous year the Master of Research in Art at the Complutense University of Madrid.

Within her trajectory in ceramics, her three solo exhibitions stand out:
Still (Sala de Cultura de Etxebarri), Kata (Aldama Fabre Gallery in Bilbao), and Balizko in Hernani Kalea 21, Donostia (both in 2021), among a large number of group exhibitions.

In terms of competitions, it is worth mentioning his selection in Cerco, International Fair and Contemporary Ceramics Award (2021), in Ertibil Bizkaia (2019 and 2021), his two participations in the Manises International Biennial (2019 and Honorable Mention in 2017), and in Open to Art, Officine Saffi Gallery, Milan (2019).

In the field of awards and grants include the award of the Bizkaia Provincial Council Grant in Plastic and Visual Arts (2018), Bilbaoarte Production Grants (2020) and the Basque Government Grant for Plastic and Visual Arts (2020).

She is currently a doctoral student in the PhD Program in Contemporary Art at the University of the Basque Country, collaborates as a designer with the interior design, architecture and design studio Imatra, and is preparing her first artist publication which she expects to be released later this year. BARATZEAN, in BASE gallery, is her fourth solo exhibition, which will open on April 14.
