Marcos Rico
Marcos Rico is a multidisciplinary artist who works in the media of photography, painting and video. He graduated in Advertising and Graphic Design at the Escuela de Publicidad de Madrid. He later completed a Foundation in Art at the UAL in London. Marcos currently lives in Bilbao and combines professional photography with a Master in Painting at the UPV. He has been awarded with the Photoespaña's Master scholarship that will start next 2022.
His work has been exhibited in various galleries and festivals such as Tabacalera (Spain)Vancouver Art Gallery (Canada), Doomed Gallery (UK) and Espacio ECCO (Spain) among others.His project "Contemporary Words" was selected in 2017 by UAL London to participate in the UK student yearbook held at the Chelsea College of Art.
In 2018 he was artist in residence at the By Other Means Gallery in London.He has been selected within the "Joven llama Joven" program at the Lumbreras Gallery in Bilbao to have a solo exhibition in January 2022.
It can be highlighted the project for the creation of the visual identity of the Barcelona Contemporary Art Festival (BAC) and the Jäal Photo in Madrid.
Marcos has also curated multiple exhibitions, among which is his project 13 + 1 at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Cadiz.
