Paula Huarte

Paula Huarte, Aoiz 1994, Graduated in Art from the UPV/EHU, obtained a Master's degree in Graphic Printing Media, Illustration and Artistic Coinage from the Real Casa de Moneda y Timbre /FNMT in Madrid, where she expanded her knowledge in engraving and was able to experiment with different printing techniques.

Currently, after completing the Master in Ceramics Art and Function of the UPV/EHU, she integrates ceramics to her graphic work, complementing both procedures to build her own imaginary.

Her work is articulated around the opposition between the everyday and the unusual, the strange. She creates a series of related elements and images in order to configure a narrative that oscillates between the real and the unreal. It shows a different reality, in which the ambiguous, the ironic and the dreamlike predominate, and in which a code of double reading is used. It analyses and filters current experiences and events, through the exploratory medium of feelings, which encompasses autobiographical and cultural sensibilities, delving into the people and their personalities of our time, complexed, isolated and lonely, reflecting on the complexity of our individual and collective identity. An exploration of the relationship between the individual, the space he inhabits and the objects that occupy his environment. The illustration, the oneiric, the kitsch, or the children's world work as a driving force in her imaginary.
