Urtzi Urkixo
He was born in 1993 in BILBAO, when the city and the whole territory were experiencing the decline of a rich industrial past, and grew up at the same time as the great reconversion that soon followed thanks to the Guggenheim Effect. All these architectural and urban changes aroused a certain interest in his unconscious, making him more sensitive to the physical and material context that surrounded him at all times.
During his adolescence he cultivated an interest in architecture and urban planning, which he developed much more after deciding to study Creation and Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the EHUUPV, where he carried out his final degree project with the help of David Arteagoitia. Later she was able to work as assistant to Gloria Alonso, the director of the intaglio workshop at the Kunstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin.

He has been living in Berlin since 2015. There he combines his work as an editor of screen-printed graphic works with teaching graphic design and self-editing, in addition to his own projects as a graphic artist.
He is a user of the collective workshop Mehr Siebdruck, where he produces all of his works, in which he experiments with the medium of experiments with the medium of silkscreen printing, trying to go beyond the limits of the technique, forcing mistakes and appropriating them in order to use them in his own interest.
Thanks to the Bizkaia Provincial Council's Visual and Plastic Arts Production Grant, he has been able to the exhibition "Erinnerung - Recuerdo - Gogoratzen dut" at the Sala Rekalde in Bilbao.
